WhiteSpace Creative Wins Weatherhead 100 Award for Top Business Growth in Ohio

Award rounds out a strong annual showing by agency for business, product and pro-bono awards

Notable growth and a strong sales year in 2013 contributed to WhiteSpace Creative, an integrated marketing agency located in Akron, winning the prestigious Weatherhead 100 award. The result of two acquisitions over the last several years as part of a strategic growth plan earned the agency the award for exceptional growth sales from 2009-2013. WhiteSpace Creative ranked 62nd among 100 local companies across a variety of industries to win the award.

“We have enhanced and grown our services over the past few years to offer more to our clients, including interactive and public relations offerings, as well as improving our traditional marketing contributions,” said Keeven White, president and founder of WhiteSpace Creative. “The planned growth through acquisitions in the last three years has directly contributed to our ability to again win a respected and coveted award like the Weatherhead 100.”

The 2014 list recognizes 24 companies in professional services, including marketing, with the strongest showing for an industry with manufacturing and financial services close behind. To qualify for the Weatherhead 100, a company must have sales of at least $100,000 in 2009 and more than $1 million last year, with at least 16 full-time employees. Along with the Weatherhead 100, awards for Upstarts and Centurions will also be given.

“Our growth model, which was developed years ago and then adjusted as we have grown, has helped us continue to offer our clients the best service available and therefore continue to increase our sales and number of employees,” said White. “It is significant to win a local award like this, as we pride ourselves on growing and changing to meet the needs of our clients in Northeast Ohio.”

Previously, WhiteSpace Creative won the Weatherhead 100 award in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, and was awarded a 2004 Weatherhead Upstart award. The Weatherhead School of Management honored the winners at a black- tie event on Thursday, Dec. 4 at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights. In the past few months, WhiteSpace has earned multiple awards recognizing the company’s growth and pro-bono efforts as well as strong creative product, including: 2014 Graphic Design USA Package Design Award, four 2014 ADDY Awards, Cascade Capital Corporation Business Growth Award and also the sole annual FirstMerit Legacy Award, The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and FORTUNE’s 2014 Inner City 100, and Communitas Award for Community Service and Social Responsibility.
