10th-Annual WhiteSpace Event Produces $70,000 of Pro-Bono Work
WhiteSpace Creative, an Akron-based integrated marketing communications agency and project resource, is proud to announce that its tenth-annual CreateAthon® event generated more than $70,000 of pro-bono work for 10 area nonprofit organizations.
CreateAthon is an intense 24-hour creative marathon dedicated to developing marketing and communication services for select Akron, Canton and Cleveland nonprofits. This year's event, held on September 15-16, 2011, included the design and complete development of two websites, a video, multiple brochures, a bus wrap, outdoor signage, identity systems, numerous logos and taglines, and integrated programs for the following non-profits:
- Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties
- Charlotte Area Bike Alliance (CABA)
- Court Appointed Special Advocates/Guardian Ad Litem (CASA/GAL) Program of Summit County
- Countryside Conservancy
- Downtown Akron Partnership
- GASP (Guardians Against Sexual Predators)
- Hattie Larlham
- Junior League of Akron
- OneCommunity
- Sterling Sober Resources
2011 marked a decade of WhiteSpace involvement with the National CreateAthon event. Since 2002, WhiteSpace has partnered with more than 100 different nonprofits in the Akron, Canton and Cleveland area. It has produced 250+ pro-bono projects valued at more than a half a million dollars. The National CreateAthon was founded in 1998 by the South Carolina-based agency RIGGS.
WhiteSpace Creative, the exclusive CreateAthon agency for Akron/Canton/Cleveland, is a fully integrated marketing resource firm with specialties that include marketing the nonprofit sector. Established in 1994, the firm is based in Akron’s revitalized historic district.
