AKRON, Ohio (March 21, 2016) – WhiteSpace Creative, an Akron-based strategic integrated marketing communications agency, recently announced three new additions to its growing staff. The firm added Public Relations Manager Lyndsey Maurer and Account Coordinators Alexis Becker and Melissa Clark to accommodate its growing content and PR-based offerings and continued focus on client services.

We’re glad to add three new talented team members to help us achieve client goals.”
With her diverse background encompassing journalism and public relations, Maurer will help develop and manage strategic PR programs, as well as identify opportunities to integrate PR with marketing campaigns at WhiteSpace Creative. Maurer will also oversee day-to-day PR tasks, such as strengthening media relations, managing social media campaigns and analyzing research.
Maurer comes to WhiteSpace with more than a decade of media relations and communications experience having worked at both Brown University and, most recently, Kent State University. At Kent State, Maurer served as the director of athletic communications where she oversaw the media relations efforts for the department’s 18 varsity athletic teams and assisted in the development of the recently launched strategic vision.
Maurer earned a B.A. in journalism/mass communications from St. Bonaventure University, where she played varsity basketball. She currently resides in Kent, Ohio.

Becker and Clark will provide account service support by executing internal day-to-day client service operations, including the monitoring of budgets, schedules and guidelines. They will also assist account managers and supervisors by gathering, entering and organizing information, as well as documenting solutions according to supplied strategic and creative input.
A recent graduate of Edinboro University in Pennsylvania, Becker has gained experience through various marketing internships, including Akron-based InfoCision Management Corporation and Old Trail Elementary School in Bath, Ohio. She earned a B.S. in business administration with a concentration in marketing while competing on the women’s soccer team all four years.
Clark, a graduate of Ohio University in Athens, earned a B.S. in public relations. Prior to WhiteSpace, Clark spent time as a public relations intern at both Idea Grove in Dallas, Texas and Rural Action located in Kent, Ohio. Clark also gained experience working as a sales representative at PR Newswire and served as an Ambassador at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
