Invitation for Akron Civic Theatre Claims District 5 Gold

AKRON, OHIO (April 5, 2016) – WhiteSpace Creative, an Akron-based strategic integrated marketing and communications agency, has been honored by the American Advertising Federation District 5 with a Gold ADDY® Award for the “Spirits of the Civic” gala invitation for the Akron Civic Theatre.

The invitation will now compete amongst the “best of the best” at the national level. Winners will be announced at the American Advertising Federation National Conference, ADMERICA, on Tuesday, June 7, at the Disneyland Resort in California.

“We are ecstatic to have our hard work and creativity be recognized at the district level,” said WhiteSpace President and CEO Keeven White. “We are proud that the winning entry was created for the Civic, a local institution with such a stronghold in the arts community.”

“WhiteSpace Creative truly captured the essence of the event,” said Val Renner, media/special programming director for the Akron Civic Theatre.  “Working with their team has been wonderful and I am so happy they were recognized for their amazing work.”

Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local ADDY Awards are the first of a three-tier national competition. The Fifth District ADDY competition is the regional, or second, tier of the competition honoring excellence in the advertising industry. All local AAF-Akron gold winners were automatically forwarded to the regional competition, where they were judged against winners from Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia advertising clubs.

In total, there were 374 professional entries and 72 student entries at the D5/regional level. Out of those, only 24 professional entries received Golds, while 46 earned Silvers. WhiteSpace was one of only two Akron-area agencies that won a Gold at the district level.
