WhiteSpace, an integrated team of brand builders and difference makers based in Akron, Ohio, proudly announces the promotion of two creative team members: Annie Murray to copy director and Ashley Engelhardt to art director. Both have been recognized for their outstanding efforts toward creative excellence within the overall client experience.
Annie Murray, Copy Director
Murray’s recent promotion from copywriter to copy director has been a natural progression as she excels at big-picture branding and possesses a knack for striking the right balance between industry-speak and genuine storytelling. In her new role, Murray will continue to masterfully generate innovative concepts and strategic content for clients such as Parker Hannifin, Hartville Pet Insurance Group and Blind & Sons, in addition to assisting in the professional development of the agency’s copy group. She also will proactively expand opportunities to provide added value, and enhance copy guidelines to optimize best practices and agency standards. Murray joined WhiteSpace in January of 2013.
Ashley Engelhardt, Art Director
Engelhardt is a proven leader in visual brand development and campaign creation. Her advancement from graphic designer to art director is a direct result of her strong dedication and hands-on approach to every project. As art director, Engelhardt will expand her extensive skills and experience to oversee design execution across all platforms for clients such as Akron Zoo, Parker Hannifin and The University of Akron. She also will increase collaboration with team members to help further develop, create and recommend unique design solutions, approaches, vendors and styles. Engelhardt became a member of WhiteSpace through the acquisition of SmileyHanchulak Marketing Communications in 2012.

Murray and Engelhardt are recipients of local, national and international awards for brand development and integrated campaigns executed across multiple channels. Honors include American Advertising Awards (ADDYs), International Hermes Awards and a Graphic Design USA Packaging Award.
