WhiteSpace Wins National Gold ADDY® Award, One of Industry’s Top Honors

WhiteSpace, an integrated team of brand builders and difference makers based in Akron, Ohio, was awarded a prestigious National Gold ADDY® trophy at the American Advertising Awards ceremony on Saturday, June 10, 2017. The show was the closing event of ADMERICA 2017, the annual American Advertising Federation (AAF) national conference, held this year in New Orleans, LA.

The winning WhiteSpace entry, a direct-mail package created for the Leadership Akron Civic Solutions Lab, was selected from more than 39,000 entries nationwide. Victorious in the category of Public Service Direct Marketing & Specialty Advertising, the entry was judged on its creativity, originality and creative strategy. It earned Gold and Judge’s Choice recognition at both local (AAF-Akron) and regional (AAF District 5) levels before advancing to the national competition. It is the agency’s first national ADDY award.

Keeven was joined in New Orleans by WhiteSpace Art Director Ash Engelhardt, who proudly accepted the National ADDY onstage, and Account Manager Bethany English. "What an unforgettable experience," shared Ash. "But, I won't say it was 'once in a lifetime.'  With the great work WhiteSpace is doing, we intend on being back. Soon."

The jury for this year’s national on-site judging gathered in Washington, DC, last month. The judges were:

The American Advertising Awards, also known as the ADDYs, are the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting close to 40,000 entries every year from local ad club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. Top winners at the local chapter level move on to competition at the district level. District winners move onto the national competition and are announced at the annual AAF ADMERICA conference.
