Food packaging recognized in GDUSA American Package Design Awards™ annual showcase.
AKRON, OHIO (February 11, 2018) — WhiteSpace, an integrated team of brand builders and difference makers based in Akron, Ohio, was a winner in the 56th GDUSA American Package Design Awards™ sponsored by Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) magazine. The featured design was part of a new product launch the agency assisted with for Hickory Harvest Foods, also based in Akron.
GDUSA bestows package design honors on work that not only represents well-designed graphics, but also clearly showcases the power of design to advance a brand, particularly in the crucial point-of-purchase moment. The work WhiteSpace completed for Hickory Harvest’s new product line of multi-pack trail mixes and blends helped the brand stay relevant in its evolving market space.
“Multi-Packs represented a new product line for our client,” Account Manger Denise Copen explained. “Communicating both quality and convenience, in the few seconds a potential customer takes to scan the shelf, was essential in positioning the brand as on-trend with busy, health conscious consumers.”
Associate Creative Director Susan Breen led the design efforts on this project with creative direction from Eric Jacobs, creative director, and messaging support from Annie Murray, copy director. The Hickory Harvest Multi-Pack design was selected from more than 2,000 entries nationwide, with only the top 15 percent of entries receiving recognition. Breen was also a key player in the Ajoyo® Almondmilk packaging that received the same award in 2014. WhiteSpace has received additional prior recognition from GDUSA in the Web Design category for the GDS Express and PATH Foundation websites.
All winning designs will be featured in the 56th GDUSA Package Design Awards Annual issue in both print and digital versions, coming soon.
