Pro-Bono Creative Marathon
Sleep deprivation. Late-night inspiration.
Fueled by coffee and powered by creativity, the WhiteSpace staff recently pulled our 13th annual all-nighter. That’s right, we worked from 8 a.m. on Thursday, Jan 21, through 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan 22. By daybreak, our passionate (if somewhat disheveled) team rolled out a diverse set of projects for select nonprofits (see the complete list of participants below).
Major air high-fives go out to Todd Biss Photography and HKM Direct Marketing Communications for volunteering their services to help make our 2016 event even more impactful.
Of course, that’s the polished version we wrote after hibernating for three days. Interested in the messier story? Take a peek at how it really went down with #WSCUpAllNight.
We give back because it helps us all move forward
Nothing feels better than helping someone else, especially when we can use our unique talents. Since 2002, WhiteSpace has been closing our doors for two full business days and working around the clock (literally more than 24 straight hours) to create and deliver marketing and communications projects for nonprofit organizations throughout Northeast Ohio and the world.
Through this effort, WhiteSpace has served 100+ organizations, produced more than 300 projects, and donated in excess of $750,000 worth of goods and services that improve our community. In return, we have felt immeasurable pride resulting from countless smiles, booming cheers and more than a few overwhelmed tears from those WhiteSpace has helped. We think we got the better end of the deal.
How it all works
Registered 501c3 organizations submit online requests, and WhiteSpace gathers information to help match these requests with the talent and resources we have available during the event. The selection process is always challenging and leaves us wishing we could do more. But, select we must. Next, we notify selected entrants and gather and prepare additional information prior to the event. The morning following the event, our teams present representatives with their final projects. Then we sleep.
Congrats to all our 2016 Pro-Bono Creative Marathon participants:

While we typically have applications available by now, WhiteSpace is planning to move offices soon, so have put the event temporarily on hold. If you'd like to be contacted once we have a new schedule in place, please email Pro-Bono Marathon Coordinator Jen Snider and you'll be added to the list. We appreciate your interest and will be in touch soon!
